Time line of the Northern Illinois Unit and WBCCI
1955– WBCC was formed with only one national organization
1956– The WBCC was reorganized into five regional units. The Midwest unit was chartered November 1956 as part of the Western division and included members from: Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois.
1959 – The International was reorganized into State Chapters. The State Chapters wanted representation on the International Board. The Midwest Unit remained a separate entity, without state affiliation’.
1963 – The Illinois state Chapter was divided into four local units. The Northern Illinois Unit was formed under Earl Wilson and given a preliminary charter by the National club. (Since then, two Illinois unit disbanded leaving just Northern Illinois, Lincolnland units.) The national club reorganized again into 7 “Regions and Illinois was assigned to Region 7 .
1964 –The charter for Northern Illinois Unit was granted Jan. 24th.. President Arthur Lipke became the second president of Northern Illinois. He held 2 joint rallies with the Midwest Unit, plus 5 rallies at State Parks and the Moose Range campground in Sycamore, IL.
1965 – President K.C. Richmond held 6 rallies at the Moose Range in Sycamore, IL from May through October. They also held 2 joint rallies with the Midwest Unit. They conducted their first unit caravan to the International at Laramie, WY. This was the first year for a Christmas Luncheon
1966 – President, Milton Smith, held 4 rallies at the Moose Range and three rallies at state parks and one at Piper’s farm.
1967 – President, Monroe McDowell, held a multi-unit rally with Iowa, Wisconsin, and Milwaukee Units at the 4H center at Amboy. Additionally, they had a multi-unit rally with Illinois Unit, Central and Southern Illinois Units at Piper’s farm. They had 3 rallies at the Sycamore Moose Range. They had a total of 11 rallies that year.
1968 – President, Roger Piper, held 9 rallies at Amboy and four at a variety of locations.
1969 – President, Bob Hampton, held six rallies at Amboy. They had a unit caravan to and from the International in Laramie, WY. Two additional rallies were held and a Christmas luncheon.
1970 – President, Howard Cobert, held 5 rallies at Amboy. 3 rallies were held at private facilities and state parks. They had a Christmas Luncheon.
1971– President, Harry Wiggs, held 5 rallies at Amboy and 3 rallies at state parks. They also held a rally at the Sandwich Fair and a Christmas luncheon.
1973 – President, James Toskey, held 4 rallies at Amboy and 4 unit rallies in State parks and commercial campgrounds. They held one joint rally with the Illinois Unit and a Christmas Luncheon.
1974– President, Tom Schafer, held 4 rallies at Amboy and 3 rallies at private campgrounds. They rallied at the Sandwich Fair, but did not have a Christmas luncheon.
1976 – President Carl Johanson held 4 rallies at Amboy and 3 rallies at State Parks or other facilities.
1977 – President, George Mitchell, held 4 rallies at Amboy. They held 3 rallies at state parks
1978 – President, Don Henricks, held 4 rallies at Amboy. They had 2 Dinner theater outings plus a Country Osprey at 1 of the 3 state park rallies. They attended the Sandwich Fair IL There were 2 unit caravans1 to WI, and another toured IL, KY, and IN. The Installation Rally was at Lake County Fairgrounds. The Christmas party was held in Waukegan.
1979 – President, Roy Posselt, held 4 rallies at Amboy. There were 3 unit caravans, including one to the International at Las Cruces, NM, and 2 local caravans
1980– President, Fran Stuttle, held 4 rallies at Amboy and 3 rallies at State parks. There was a 10 day Michigan Peninsula adventure Unit Caravan as well as a Christmas Luncheon.
1981– President, Pete Nester, held 4 rallies at Amboy and 3 rallies at state parks and private facilities. They conducted 2 unit caravans: to The Grand Old Opry and Ames Mississippi Palisades SP, The unit attended the Sandwich Fair and had a Christmas Luncheon.
1982 – President, Don Hampton, held 4 rallies at Amboy and 3 rallies at State parks and private facilities. They also conducted a homecoming caravan and rally to the Airstream facility in Ohio. They rallied at the Sandwich Fair and had a Christmas Luncheon
1984 – President, Ike Read, held 5 rallies at Amboy, There were three caravans to: the International, the Airstream Homecoming, and the Region 5 Rally. They had rallies at Sandwich Fair, Green River Oaks Campground, and Galena. There were two luncheons.
1985 – President, Bud Loek, held 5 rallies at Amboy. There was a unit caravan to the International Rally at Lake Placid NY, plus a Homecoming Caravan to Jackson Center. There were rallies at the Sandwich Fair plus 2 additional locations. There was one luncheon
1986 – President, Lew Carrano, held three rallies at Amboy. There was a caravan to International in Boise, ID. There were also rallies at Sandwich Fair and 3 additional locations.
1987 –President, Paul Yazel, held four rallies at Amboy, There was a unit caravan to the International in SD. and 2 additional rallies, plus two luncheons.
1988 – President, Charles Swaner, held 5 rallies at Amboy. There were unit caravans to: International at Huntsville, AL and Homecoming. There was one luncheon
1989 – President, Robert Wagnon, held 3 rallies at Amboy. Other rallies were held at: the Sandwich Fair and 4 other locations. There was a unit caravan to the International at Bozeman, MT and 2 luncheons. Wag went on to become president of Region 5 and then International President in 2000
1990 – President, Mike Ladusinsky, held 4 rallies at Amboy. Additional rallies were held at the Sandwich Fair and two other locations. Two luncheons were held.
1994 – President, Bill Bushnell, held 4 rallies at Amboy, plus two additional rallies, and two luncheons.
1995 – President, Charles Paape, held 4 rallies at Amboy. They had 2 caravans to: International, and Region 5. Two additional rallies were held plus two luncheons.
1996 – President, Frank Muhleback, held 4 rallies at Amboy. The installation Rally was held at Lowden State Park. There were two luncheons.
1997– President, Dale Werdebaugh, held 4 rallies at Amboy. There was a unit caravan to International in Huntsville, Al. Rallies at: Sandwich Fair, Lowden State Park, and two luncheons.
1998 – President, Wayne Kotum, held 4 rallies at Amboy. Dwight lead the caravan to Boise, ID. There were two luncheons and two other rallies.
1999 -2000 President, Dwight Dixon, held 3 rallies at Amboy and 4 rallies at state parks or private campgrounds plus 2 luncheons, Wayne Kortum led caravans to International at Dayton, OH, and Region 5 Rally.
2000 – President – Ron Schumaker held 4 rallies at Amboy and 3 at other locations. The unit had a caravan to the International, in OH, plus 2 luncheons.2001– President Ken Stirneman held 4 rallies at Amboy, 3 other rallies at other locations plus 3 luncheons.
2002 – President, Terry Chesnut, held 4 rallies at Amboy, Plus 3 luncheons and 3 rallies at other locations.
2003– President, Lillian Kortum, held 4 rallies at Amboy. 4 luncheons 4 additional rallies plus a caravan to the International in Vermont
2004 -President, Reulene Aarup, held 4 rallies at Amboy plus 3 other rallies, a unit caravan to international at Lancing MI. and a Christmas luncheon
2005 -President, Charles Aarup, held 4 rallies at Amboy plus 3 additional rallies and 2 luncheons
2006 – President, Nancy Morrison, held 4 rallies at Amboy plus 3 rallies at other locations plus 3 luncheons and a caravan to the International at Salem, OR.
2007 – President, Bob Morrison, held 4 rallies at Amboy and plus 3 other rallies Plus 3 luncheons.
2008 – President, Bob Whitesell, held 3 rallies at Amboy, 2 state park rallies and 3 luncheons
2009 – President, Norm White, held 2 rallies at Amboy, 5 other rallies, 3 luncheons
2010 – President, Carol Dixon, held 2 rallies at Amboy plus 4 other rallies, She led caravans to the Region Rally at DU Quoin IL.and Sugar Creek, we also had 4 luncheons.
2011– President, Jim Matkovich, held 3 rallies at Amboy and 2 rallies at other locations, plus 3 luncheons
2012 – President, Brian McFarland, held 2 rallies at Amboy and 4 other rallies plus 3 luncheons and a Caravan to International at Sedalia, MO.
2013– President, Brian McFarland, held 2 rallies at Amboy and 3 additional rallies. and 3 luncheons.
